No, before you read this I am not making fun of the church or any of its members, I am simply telling you how you can make money like many so many of its pastors and it’s leaders.
Earlier today, I woke up at about 3:30 AM. I had a bad dream that I was being chased by a rat (They scare the crap out of me). So I woke up and turned on my TV hoping to watch something entertaining like I love money, or Scrubs and to my surprise there was this horribly made commercial which kinda looked like it was made by a 3 year old with a $2 dollar budget.
The commercial said “Pare de sufrir” which in English means, “Stop suffering”. This short catch frase is known by thousands of people as it is the catch frase of a popular church, “Iglesia Universal del Reino de Dios” or “The universal church of God’s kingdom”.
While the commercial kept on going it made me want to stay and watch… I’m guessing I was so bored I just wanted to laugh at whatever they were trying to tell the public. So I kept on watching and then they asked in big bold letters “Do you have problems at home?”, “Do you have an addiction?”, “Are you having some trouble in your relationship?”, “Do you have any pains” Well my answer to all these questions is, “WHO DOESN’T!?”.
Anyway, the commercial kept on going and then the final message was, if you want to stop suffering come to the church for this powerful ritual and ceremony, and let god heal you with our “Blessed holy water from the middle east.” And this is not the only thing they sell, previously I had watched their commercials only to find out that they were selling some type of blessed oil or a blessed handkerchief.
Then in the last portion of the commercial, they show the pastor placing his hands on random people and the people fell to the ground. Now I’m not saying that they are actors.. I have a whole another explanation for this but since this is not an “Anti-Religion” post but rather just a “How to market X” post I won’t go into further details.
Well anyway, as you read my post I hope you noticed the marketing strategy of that church. What they were trying to do is trying to “Generalize” to everyone. I’m more than sure that if you heard something like “Are you a human?” you’d laugh, but it’s basically the same thing. They are simply naming normal problems that people face everyday and then people go to the church hoping to be cleansed that they don’t care how much money they spend as long as this miraculous power comes and saves them.
You can take advantage of people and increase your marketing skills by trying to imitate what this church has done. When writing an article you can talk about how “X” affiliate marketing product helped you ease that horrible pain on your back. And how “Y” affiliate marketing product makes you wake up happy in the morning.
Most people are very gullible to buying something especially when that something comes from a reliable source. That source could be a blog or a website with a professionally looking layout. If you have a good looking layout it says a lot about you because it makes your website look professional, not like a joke.
Another thing you can do is to place video reviews. Those a very powerful, especially when a woman cries because she is happy. In the church’s video there was this woman crying cause she had some kind of work problem and she ended up with a better job after she went to this sect. So if you want to deliver a powerful sales page, video reviews is the way to go. You can hire people to do videos for you in freelancing sites at very low prices.
If you are horrible at writing you can also hire freelancers to do it for you and they can deliver killer sales letters that will have costumers lining up to buy your product. I’m a freelancer and I’ll make you a sales page that will make your costumers drool.
If you have any questions feel free to post them and I’ll be happy to answer them. If you follow these steps I’m sure you’ll start seeing tons of leads coming into your affiliate sites.

Funny thing is, I do the same thing when I wake up in the middle of the night and don’t immediately fall back asleep, I look for Scrubs or Seinfeld or something.
Anyway, its funny how you can get ideas from a commercial like that, I lol’d while reading it. It is a good strategy though, gives the readers a more personal opinion on the thing you are persuading them to try out.

Seinfield? I don’t know why but every time I watch that show I get depressed.
Lol the church is kind of viral too… because if you search Google you’ll find some parodies about their commercials, they’re in spanish though.

I thought you’d like to know that everything that is offered by The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, is free. Also, we do not believe in falling after a prayer of laying on of hands. You must have been watching something else. If you’d like further information, feel free to contact me.

Janet, do you want the video?
And I read the correct words… “Pare de sufrir” like I said, it was in big bold letters with a horrible flamy background.
Also, if you don’t mind me asking how did you find the site?

This part of a service where an evil spirit is being cast out. The falling has nothing to do with the prayer, but rather is either because the person is exhausted by the evil spirit or is reacting of their own volition, what Christians would call “flesh.” God does not put people on the ground, but raises them up to stand strong.
I found your comments via Google.

So what you mean to tell me is that if I were to go to that church that would happen to me? I find it funny because you never see Smart or powerful people like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet falling down in a service, you hardly even see them at church.
And according to the church it’s the devil or the demon that causes affliction, if that were true why is it that Bill Gates or Warren Buffet are not christians or don’t have a known faith.
You never see people like them falling on the ground spitting and shaking like they were having an epilepsy attack.
I really didn’t want this to turn into a “Faith” conversation but rather just a way to market products. I respect people from all religions, and all ethnicities this post was just to show how a low budget video can bring you plenty of money.
Also they don’t ask for money directly, but rather the “Pastor” asks for money.

No, if you were to go to that church it would not happen to you. There are doctors, lawyers, senators, and the like who are members of the church who have been possessed by an evil spirits and who have had these spirits manifest themselves in different ways. Evil spirits do not always manifest themselves by throwing people on the ground, but it is one of the ways that it happened in the Bible. Everyone can receive help regardless of their donations.
My suggestion to everyone who “respects people from all religions, and all ethnicities” is to never take anything out of context.
Jesus was about meeting the needs of people. That is the only thing the church has in common with business. But mostly business is about meeting its own desires.

@Eze: Not an idiot, just different opinions. We all have them, and calling them names won’t help out. Trust me I’ve tried and it doesn’t work at all.
I haven’t heard the acronym “STFU” for a long time that made me laugh lol.

I really enjoyed this post, really amazing how they can influence people emotionally! I think the biggest secret to marketing is to know how to lie and this is also why many people fail at marketing because lying is an art.
July 24, 2008 at 3:42 pm
@ChiQ: Shut The F$%^$% Up. lol
@Ruby: Exactly, which is why most marketers like cloaking their pages, to lie to Google.
