Have you ever heard of the quote, “The first impression is what counts”? Well most of us didn’t care about that quote when we started blogging, you should read this article so you don’t make the same mistake.
If you currently go to some of the biggest blogs online you will see that they all started with amazing pillar content. Most of the bloggers nowadays, including myself made the mistake of advertising the blog with starter crappy content and ended up getting traffic, but the traffic did not stay.
One of the best things that you can do when you start your blog is to start writing all your ideas and thoughts on a piece of paper, and make a list of all the posts that you would want to make in the future when you write down your thoughts you are getting organized, and it will be easier to make your posts and articles in the future.
When I first started this blog I had no plans for it other than for it to become a GPT resource site, but after going to many successful blogs such as Boingboing.net and Techcrunch.com I decided that It should become something better. If you see my old blog posts (my really old ones) you will see that the content that I had was mainly all horribly badly written GPT review posts. I used to get really good traffic for a starter blog, but the problem was that the traffic was not staying until I decided to go to professional blogs and read their first starter posts and thats when it hit me, that the reason why they became so successful was because they were really going at it.
Most if not all of the big blogs I saw posted just incredible pillar content, and the worse part is that some of those great articles were hardly ever read as most of them have no comments at all, so all this great content is just sitting there holding up the great structure of what the blog is today.
Here are some things you should think about when making your first posts.
- Will your content attract more visitors?
- Is your content good enough?
- Will your content create a discussion between your readers?
- Is your content useful?
The best thing to do when you start a blog is to simply post content and don’t stop, it doesn’t matter whether someone reads it or not, just keep posting and when you have posted enough you’ll see the fruits of your work.
