6 Tips for better link baiting
Link baiting has been exploited and used very often and if done properly most people won’t even notice they’ve been link baited.

We see link baiting daily in our lives when we see all the ads online about getting free ipods and free laptops and all that good stuff, but most of the time those are all link baits and you don’t really get any of the products unless you complete hundreds of offers and promotions.

Link baiting works by attracting the costumer to our bait. In order to do that we must present them with a very good and attractive offer that might be very hard to refuse. We can also link bait people in different ways, your creativity is the limit. When the costumer clicks on our link, they have just been link baited and you’ve made yourself a possible profit.

  • The Social Bookmarking Method
Social bookmarking sites such as Digg get tons of traffic and if you manage to get in their front page you can see an incredible rise in traffic. But with Link baiting we won’t try to get in the front page, we only submit our article and let the search engine bots index it.

I have noticed that when you submit an article to Digg it gets indexed by Google in about five minutes or less. And the keywords that are used to find the article are very easy to manipulate to work out for you.

When you want to begin a link bait campaign you simply create a digg article with a new and controversial title, preferably a niche that is small you shouldn’t try to do this with a “Make Money Online” keyword because it’s just not gonna work.

Once people search for a certain keyword they will click on your Digg page because they will think that it’s an actual article and you can use your Digg title to attract people searching for a certain keyword to actually end up in your website.

This method will work with many other social bookmarking sites, just try it out and test it.

  • The Domain Method
This will require you to actually spend some money, so if you are cheap like me then I suggest you skip this part.

The domain effect exploits a certain current event that has just taken place. For example, when Jamie Lynn Spears announced she was expecting a baby you could have bought the domain “Jamie-Lynn-Spears-has-a-baby.com” and when people look for the keyword your site would appear on the top results without even having any real information on it.

This method works best if you do it with something that is new, not something that happened last week or the previous day, it works best if as soon as you hear it on CNN you run to your computer and buy the domain.

You should only try this method with something that is very controversial, like Ingrid Betancourt’s freedom or something of the sort, something that is global and is bound to get attention will bring you a lot of money.

  • The Online Spammer Method
The online spammer method takes a lot of time, but in the long run it’s definitely worth it.

First in order for this method to work you must have a lot of time to write articles and to keep a blog maintained, if not then simply pay someone to write the articles for you.

What this method does is it makes you create about 15 different blogs and websites and then you start writing content to make it look as a normal blog and or website. After a bit of time you stick a link in your blogs that will link to your site, when you do that you’ll not only get backlinks but you’ll get people to visit your blog.

You can try this method with small niches and you will start to see that you will become the dominating domain of that certain niche and if you stick some Adsense ads you will start to see the cash come in. In order to make the blogs sign up for different free hosting websites such a wordpress.org, blogates.com and many more just Google them.

  • The Controversial Article Method
This method is very risky because if not done properly will make you loose readers.

What you do with this method is you take something happening, whether online or in everyday life and you write about it, ask some controversial questions and make some strong standpoints, if you attack a person directly but you do it “Politely” it will sure get attention and raise some eyebrows.

When you try this method you might be risking the reputation of your blog because some people might get offended by the article and leave a rude comment and never come back, so if you try this method make sure you don’t piss anyone off, yet you leave them a little bit mad that they’ll want to comment on the article.

I’ve found that religion works great with this method because it gets a lot of attention.

Here is a post which shows you what a controversial article can do for your blog.

  • The Get a free (insert random item here) method.
If you are an affiliate marketer then you should be familiar with the method.

What you do here is you go to an affiliate Zip submit or E-mail offer that gives something out for free and you create a whole complete website for that certain product and then you buy some Adwords credits and some very good keywords, when people search for that keyword they click on your site, submit their e-mail and you’ve got money in your pocket.

This method works best with Zip submits and E-mail submits because most people won’t bother filling out more info other than they E-mail or Zip code. If you are not an affiliate marketer then sign up for Market Leverage as they’ve got a good support team and tons of offers.

  • The Trackback Effect
What you do with this method is you basically get 15 blogs (You might want to incorporate this with the online spammer method) and you start linking to a certain article from a website such as techcrunch.com.

When you link to the article, that article will get a trackback and since techcrunch.com makes trackbacks appear before the comments then you can start spamming all those articles and end up getting traffic, seeing as most of their articles are very interesting and a lot of people follow the outgoing links.
