Megachurches- Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, and others exposed.

This post is unlike any other post you have ever read in this blog or unlike any other post that you will ever see again on this blog but it might even save you money. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll know that my main goal for this site, is to try and get as many visitors as possible into the website. Why? Because of name branding, the more people see the name “Germz” the more they’ll be likely to recognize it in the future and the more likely they’ll be to come back and visit this website, but anyway let’s begin the article.
Many of you have heard the name Benny Hinn around your local christian TV station, and many of you have seen the “miracles” that he does, I for one attended one of his crusades in East Rutherford, Pennsylvania at around the age of 11. It was unlike any other preaching that I had ever gone to, he spoke firmly and loudly and made the crowd gasp as he spoke with a vigorous voice about the miracles of the Lord.
While he spoke, you could see the outburst of tears running down the faces of those subdued by the agony of a life under a so called sin, or at least that’s what Mr. Benny Hinn and other preachers call it, I on the other hand call it an average Joe’s life without a dictated religious dogma.
At the end of the service, Mr. Benny Hinn asked for those who had not been born again to come down in front of the pulpit so that us, Oh horrible sinners could be born again under the blood (Yes, blood) of Jesus Christ and repent from our evil ways; but I was 11, the worst sin that I had ever done was to take a dollar out of mom’s purse to buy myself a Pepsi which she always refused to buy me.
Anyway, when they were passing out the plastic white offering buckets for the poor around the world, I promptly looked around in my pockets and placed the $2 dollars that I had inside the Benny Hinn offerings envelope and placed my $2 dollars there in the hope that some kid in Africa could get something to eat for the day, in those times it would have taken me about a week worth’s of begging to my parents to get those $2 dollars back.
Today, years later after now becoming a reformed atheist, I came to learn that Mr. Benny Hinn as well as many other preachers are absolute scammers. Yes, that’s right I said it, SCAMMERS, FRAUDULENT mega preachers who are getting rich out of the poor man’s pocket.
I know some of you hard core Christians may say, “But Germz! Benny Hinn, as well as other preachers write books. Those books turn a profit, and the profit made from those books are then given to the person who wrote them (like Benny Hinn, or Joyce Meyer), just like it would to any other writer.” And my response would be, But see, J.K. Rowling, nor anyone in the New York Time’s best sellers, or even Oprah’s Recommended List of books go on TV and ask for charity money in the name of a God, and then end up keeping part of a profit themselves, nor do they give false hope to poor people telling them that whatever they give will be given back to them tenfold. (Click here for proof that it’s a lie.)
So now that you are reading this, and are about to un-susbscribe from my newsletter RSS feed, you can feel free to gaze upon the following video, created by the amazingly talented Dateline NBC team which managed to expose my once greatly admired TV mega-preacher, Benny Hinn.
As you can see, your child can now choose a better career path and he can now forget about becoming a doctor or a lawyer, when being a TV preacher is so much more profitable and guess what? People will pay to hear you speak.
So now you Christians are thinking, “Germz, you can’t convince me! That’s just one preacher… and I bet there aren’t even any other preachers like this. For example I watch Joyce Meyer every day and she seems really nice, she looks like a very powerful woman of the Lord, she could never do such a thing as buy herself a million dollar home, or even buy herself luxuries! That’s just crazy talk Germz, you need a revival.”
But oh boy, take a look at this very long article titled “Joyce Meyers – Decide for yourself…..” written by Carolyn Tuft and Bill Smith, that article will get Joyce Meyer moodier than when she went through menopause!
In the article we can see that the highly acclaimed Joyce Meyer, a 60 year old woman woman with a 12th grade education, managed to get herself started with a major ministry which now brings around $8 million dollars a month, Tax Free!
The article talks about her $10 million dollar jet, which really is a necessity because the woman needs to travel around the world to you know… scam more people into their hard earned money to buy herself a “$2 million dollar mansion” or maybe her husband is tired of the new “$107,000 silver-gray Mercedes sedan” and wants a much better car than that. Or maybe her daughter Sandra is tired of her “$750,000″ dollar home, or maybe not Sandra but rather her other daughter, Laura with her “$350,000″ dollar house, or maybe even one of her sons, like David with a “$725,000″ dollar home or maybe it’s just Dan with his other Ministry bought “$200,000″ dollar home. Her compound of houses would make the Corleone family jealous.
I can understand that the family needs a house to live in, especially when they work for the ministry but a $750,000 dollar house is way out of the budget, Joyce. I could also understand the world’s richest man, Mr. Warren buffer going on a home spending spree (which he never did, as he still lives in the same house he grew up in unlike you Joyce), but he doesn’t ask for charity money.. he doesn’t even ask people to buy stuff from him! But you do Joyce and it’s you who dares to say that “Some of you need to sow a special seed this weekend,” Meyer told her Detroit audience. “Don’t be a $10 man all your life. Don’t even be a $100 man all your life. . . . You have to give sometimes until it hurts. It needs to cost you something.” well Joyce, with your $2 million dollar home, it doesn’t seem to be hurting you at all even in this tough economy you dare to keep asking money from people, may god, Vishnu, or Budha have mercy on your soul little Joyce.
I guess I’m really going to hell now, so let’s keep on going. We come to see Mr. Kenneth Copeland, who also owns a jet, a very big home, and guess what? He also asks for money saying god will return it to you! Boy… choosing a career path has never been easier, I think I already know what I’m gonna do once I finish High School, or maybe I should go into law to put all these clowns in jail, where they belong.
But if you don’t know Copeland then skip that video to where we come to see popular pastor from the Potter’s House Mr. T.D. Jakes, and Lakewoods Church’s own Mr. Joel Osteen exposed by CNBC.
When asked about people criticizing his way of living, he responded “Living well in America is not wrong, it’s how you go about getting the money that is an issue. It gives me a great deal of credibility, whether I’m working with ex inmates to say that it is possible to have the American dream without selling drugs, I cannot say that if I haven’t done it myself.” Yes, you have done it yourself. But How? By selling the hope that you can achieve the American dream by becoming a pastor, thereby selling that same message which brought you to become a pastor? I thought the American dream was achieved with hard work and ingenuity, well at least he’s got the ingenuity to scam people for their money.
To add more to this great blasphemy, the very smart Senator Chuck Grassley investigated some televangelists, during his investigation many news networks such as CNN and FOX News followed his investigation, they found out that some televangelists even drive Rolls Royces, a car so expensive that you’ll be lucky to die seeing just one.
And finally Creflo Dollar, He’s got a suitable name for his scam.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mar. 5, 2000 says this:
The Rev. Creflo Dollar Jr. has unabashedly embraced his name by building a religious empire on the message that his brand of piety leads to prosperity. He drives a black Rolls-Royce, flies to speaking engagements across the nation and Europe in a $5 million private jet and lives in a $1 million home behind iron gates in an upscale Atlanta neighborhood… The World Changers campus sits on a slight hill… Inside the church is a lobby befitting a five-star hotel. Chairs are scattered about on baby blue carpet thick enough to muffle the sound of the stadium-size crowd arriving for a Sunday service… There are no visible traditional Christian symbols – no cross, no image of Jesus, no stained-glass windows…Dollar lives in a $1 million home owned by the church in the Guilford Forest subdivision in southwest Atlanta. World Changers purchased another $1 million home on 27 acres in Fayette County in December. The church has amassed a fortune in real estate, mostly in College Park… As World Changers grew, so did Dollar’s emphasis on prosperity. Dollar has no degree in theology. Much of his prosperity message, according to church and his family members, is based on the teachings of friend and spiritual mentor Kenneth Copeland… And a frequent criticism – that the church refuses to help nontithers – isn’t true either, Lett said. Tithers simply “have priority,” she said. People are not allowed to touch Dollar during services, she said, simply because “the anointing is flowing at that point.” She said the church purchased a Rolls-Royce for Dollar’s use because “he deserves the best.”
-Taken from Greedy Evangelists.
Another greedy rat who is known to talk about the apocalypse, is Mr. John Hagee, in the following we see how god profits its flock.
“Since Hagee and his wife, Diana Hagee, founded GETV 25 years ago, the organization has gone from a back-room operation broadcasting Sunday sermons to San Antonio area viewers to a 50,000-square-foot multimedia studio broadcasting to 127 television stations and 82 radio stations nationwide…
…. According to the 990 forms for GETV, the organization in 2001 netted $12.3 million from donations, $4.8 million in profit from the sales of books and tapes, and an additional $1.1 million from various other sources, including rental income.
As the nonprofit organization’s president, Hagee drew $540,000 in compensation, as well as an additional $302,005 in compensation for his position as president of Cornerstone Church, according to GETV’s tax statements.
He also received $411,561 in benefits from GETV, including contributions to a retirement package for highly paid executives the IRS calls a “rabbi trust,” so named because the first beneficiary of such an irrevocable trust was a rabbi.
The John Hagee Rabbi Trust includes a $2.1 million 7,969-acre ranch outside Brackettville, with five lodges, including a “main lodge” and a gun locker. It also includes a manager’s house, a smokehouse, a skeet range and three barns.
Taken together, his payment package, $842,005 in compensation and $414,485 in benefits, was one of the highest, if not the highest, pay package for a nonprofit director in the San Antonio area in 2001.”
”Hagee’s compensation was among the highest pay packages for television evangelists in 2001, according to IRS 990 filings”
In Addition Hagee’s wife “Diana Hagee received compensation of $67,907 as vice president of GETV and $58,813 as the special events director for Cornerstone Church.”
Finally, I want to leave you with some funny Christian moments.

The next time you want to give a tithe, give it to your local charity, not your local church. If you have a comment feel free to post it below, it might just convince me to think otherwise.

I am a strong Christian and I agree with everything you said about these “prosperity pimps”. Many of these “televangelists” are nothing but greedy snakes and they deserve to go to prison for scamming innocent people all in the name of our savior! However, please don’t generalize and assume that all Christian preachers are like this because it’s not true. I am a strong Christian and I will never do something like this. So please don’t reject God for what people do. They made the choice to scam these people and God gives us free will to make our own choices. So know that not all Christians are like this.
The preachers you have rightfully exposed are not persons that follow what the Bible teaches. The men are “Word of Faith” preachers. The Bible speaks of false teachers and these men are certainly that. They have mislead untold number of people and do not teach biblical teachings. They speak enough about the Bible to convince those who do not read the Bible enough to believe they are teaching the truth. True Christians follow Christ and do not expect to become rich. Thank you for trying to expose these people for what they are.
We are getting all this financial seed word of faith crap in the UK these days thanks to God TV and as far as I’m concerned they are all false prophets! I went back to my Catholic roots because I am so disillusioned with God TV and all these American prosperity preachers, I’ve tried the prosperity teachings and they just get you into £1000,s of debt, many churches in the UK don’t believe in tithing and coercing the poor to give what little money they have to millionaire preachers! my rant over! LOL
regardless of what you think about TV evangelists is not important, God is real. I have witnessed first hand a miracle!
I am sorry for your and my own disillusionment with these “ministers” but they are not the example of Jesus Christ or of Christianity. For every million dollar televangelist there are thousands of Christian ministers who have given up everything to try to help the needy, lived just like the people they were ministering to, and did their best to follow everything Jesus really said. How do I know? Because I have known many of them and was married to one for 35 years until he died recently.
Ask Jesus if he’s real or not, not some man or woman. I did that 36 years ago and was astonished to hear him answer me and make me sure that it and he was real.
Jesus and the apostles warned that wolves in sheep’s clothing would come later. Peter the apostles also warned that men will come later in the name of Jesus making merchandise out of you all. I’m not going to tell you what to believe man, but what these people are doing only validates what scriptures said would happen. And you know what, the bible says it’s going to get worse.
So if Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into heaven, what do you really think God has in store for these preachers. Being a true disciple of Jesus means being a able know whats of God and whats not of God all your life. Let me see, actually, every single video you put up I agree with because none of those things I can find in the bible. Man I love you and I’ll tell you truth just because of it.
Either you 1 never belonged to Christ, or 2 you let wicked mens actions become your determining factor and not the bible. Because clearly you will see none of these things in there, none. I don’t write rss feeds ever but because what you wrote is near to my heart I had to say something. Even church how we do it today is not found in the bible. you know the whole preacher and pew set up. Neither is tithing. I actually don’t go to church because it’s unbiblical and there is a better way to fellowship with believers .
According to the bible each preacher above you named is not born again, and if they died now would be lost forever. Look I could go on but if you want me to elaborate further just email me. Being christian is not about going to heaven, but rather about knowing God, having our sins forgiven and being raised from the dead on the last day to live on earth again forever with God. Heaven is temporal.
