We moved to Hostgator

After having multiple problems with our old host, 3iX.org, we decided to move on and get a new host, and the one that we chose was Hostgator.
Hostgator is more expensive than 3iX but they are more reliable and they offer many more things that 3iX does not offer.

The reason why I left 3iX was because I had problems with them daily. The website was always loading slowly, and I had to contact their host daily for about a month to get them to reset the server so the speed could get a little better.

The speed from 3iX’s servers was not the only problem I had. I also got hacked about 2 weeks ago by some inept Russian hacker who decided he was gonna add some malicious Javascript code to most of our pages, well I found the code and I had to delete it on my own on every page.

The funny thing from when I got hacked was that I found the malicious code before 3iX did and I had to mail them to tell them, and the reply I got was that they had already found it… well if they did find it then why the heck did they not delete it!?

Days after that I started noticing that people were using search keywords such as “Javascript eval malicious code”, and “3iX hacked”, when I did my own searches I found out that many, many people had been hacked, and apparently they all blamed 3iX’s lack of security.

But enough of me rambling about 3iX. I am happy we are with HostGator now and I hope that they will meet our needs.

Hostgator helped me step by step with setting up the domain and updating everything. They even transferred the site for me. The only reason why the site went down was because I changed the name servers at the wrong time and because we had a little error with the file loading, but they fixed it in less than 10 minutes after I reported it.

If you are looking for a host get Hostgator, I definitely recommend them.
