When to Promote your posts?

When you write an article there are things you can do in order to get your article more traffic. You can let the search engines do all the work, or you can Promote your Article between your friends, and Social Networking sites such as Digg, Stumbleupon and many others.

The Positive
There are good things that you can achieve by promoting your posts, and there are also negative things that you can get from promoting Articles, one of them is that if you promote your Articles excessively people won’t admire the Articles you promote as much as they would admire it if you only were to promote an article or 2 a week, rather than promoting it each time you post.

The Negative
If you were to go on Digg or Any other Social Bookmarking Site, and submit an Article you made each time you created it, most people would classify you as a spammer for only promoting your posts.

If you want to gain trust from the members of a Social Networking site you must submit good content to the sites and you must try to be as friendly as possible.

Before you start submitting your site to different Social Bookmarking sites make sure you have submitted content to the Social Bookmarking site from other people, not just your content. If you can’t find anything to submit then simply do a Google search on something that is close to your Niche and submit it. When you have a good submission count, then you can start posting comments on the articles that other people have submitted. If you post a comment in an Article that someone submitted try to express your opinion politely. Don’t start arguments or else you will just get a bad reputation and people won’t want to visit the Articles you submit.

You must first submit good articles and then start posting comments, or else the method won’t work as well. The reason of this, is because when you first submit Articles, the Articles that you’ve submitted will show up in your Social Bookmarking site profile for everyone to see, and when you post a comment the comment will come with a link to your profile, when people click on it they will be able to see all the Content that you have submitted.

When to Promote?
Here are some things you should ask your self before promoting your posts.

• Is your article interesting?
• Is your article just a sad attempt to create a post?
• Do you think people will gain something from reading your Article?
• Is your article properly formatted?
• Does your article contain Good English, spelling, and good Ad positioning?

If you believe that your article meets the questions in the list then I suggest you go ahead and Promote your article.

The results
When you are done submitting your good Articles, you may get very good results from the Social Bookmarking sites or you may get no results at all. Don’t let this discourage you, keep on trying, try to make some friends in some Social Bookmarking sites, when you make friends you will get more readers to your site, and if you become good friends with them, they can end up becoming a subscriber and thereby earning you profit.

The best results that I got from a Social Bookmarking site was 456 Unique hits from Stumbleupon. I got that on a Saturday, the day after I only got 26 Unique hits.

So don’t give up and keep on trying!
