Google has announced their release of Google Health. The service is currently in beta testing and will help doctors upload medical files for a certain patient so they can be accessed quickly and easily.
Don’t worry, your doctor won’t start sharing your information willingly, you must first authorize him and then he will have permission to upload the files.

This service is supposed to help the user learn more about their sickness and conditions, it will also help users know about the reactions some medications might cause.

Google states that Google Health will only let you to edit your health information and only people that you allow to will be able to see your files, making you feel more secure about using their service.

This seems like a great idea from Google, although they will need some major security in their servers as storing a certain person’s medical files is very risky business. They state in their Privacy Policy that they do use third party companies, but according to them those companies are safe.

As I said before, Google Health is still in Beta testing. Click on the link if you want to try out their service. Google health also has an Online Tour which you can view online without joining.
