iGoogle Themes

30 April 2008 One Comment

Google-logoGoogle now has Artist themes that you can use for your iGoogle portal page. For those of you that don’t know what an iGoogle page is, well imagine a knock off version of Yahoo.com’s portal page also known as their homepage. In a portal you can find links to your favorite things, like the weather, the news, the time, etc.

As we all know, Ask.com has commercials on tv and they talk about personalizing your homepage. Since that’s one of their “unique” features, Google has decided to beat them at their own game, Ask.com has nothing over Google, and I see them as going bankrupt very soon. I can’t answer myself as to why ask.com is still standing or how it manages to gain money from such little traffic, cosidering that Google owns over 90% of the market and the other 2 strong contenders are Yahoo and Microsoft.

Now back to themes… They are really good looking, and beautifuly designed, they offer very artistic themes. Some of the Designers are Diane Von Furstenberg, Mark Ecko, and Jeff Koons, and even Oscar de la Renta.

Google has really out done themselves this time as this change will bring not only more users, but it will inspire young artists to further develop their work in order to become great artists like the ones that Google features.

So good job Google! You have achieved to make another one of your users happy! Kudos to you.
