The Race for Yahoo.
It’s been a week since Microsoft’s hostile offer to buy Yahoo, and it seems as if Microsoft iis going through a tough time getting Yahoo to agree on the deal seeing as there are rumors of Microsoft joining News Corp in order to buy Yahoo.

This week, there have been some big news for both Microsoft and Yahoo.

Microsoft gave a major upgrade to Live Maps, it has a ton of new features, a few of them include MapCruncher integration, and improved 3D imagery.

And Yahoo sent out a press release about their new ad system, AMP which is said to be released this Summer. They also made a partnership with Google that will allow Google to add Adsense ads to 3% of all of Yahoo Search Engine Results.

Ever since Microsoft made the hostile bid for Yahoo, we’ve gone from Microhoo to Yahoogle and Microspace. What’s will be next, Yahaol?

There have been rumors of Yahoo joining AOL to prevent a hostile take over from Microsoft. According to the Wall Street Journal , “The deal, which wouldn’t include AOL’s dial-up access business, would value AOL at about $10 billion. As part of the deal, Yahoo would use the Time Warner cash and additional funds to buy back several billion dollars worth of its own stock at a price somewhere in the middle of the range between $30 and $40 a share, the people said.”

On the other hand, according to The New York Times there are also rumors of Microsoft joining News Corp to buy Yahoo. And As many of you know, News Corp owns Myspace, and Myspace has an ad deal with Google… so are they ultimately going to find a way to drag Facebook or Ebay in to this?
If the deal were to happen, it would create an Internet Goliath, big enough to take on behemoth Google.
But if Yahoo were to rejects the deal, Microsoft could end up loosing members and creating a bad image amongst its members.

Once can only wonder who will win the battle of the Titans.
