4 Tips for better Blogging
4 Tips for better Blogging
Everyone has a different style of writing, it’s what makes writers unique. People might love reading a blog written professionally while others might like a more comedic blog, we all have different ideas and likings, and as writers we need to meet our reader’s standards.
Here are some tips to help you out increase your already good blogging skills.
- Link to people outside of your niche.
When people come to your blog they are interested in the niche that your blog is about, But sometimes you might be able to introduce new niches to people that are interested in the same things as you. If you have a gardening blog, you might link to a technology blog talking about a great new grass cutting gadget that will help ease the life of home owners around the world, or you might want to link to a technology blog talking about how you can increase your business sales.People link to each other, that’s the beauty of the World Wide Web, it connects us and when you link to someone else you are connecting your readers to something new.
- Give new things to your readers
Present your readers with new things. Try to spice up your blog, start some contests here and there, make your blog come alive. Currently, writing a well kept blog is not enough for some people, they need to be entertained by a contest or something more interactive you need to take your reader’s attention and make them want to interact in your blog, a strong community is a faithful community. If build a strong community with the readers in your blog they’ll keep coming back wanting to participate in the things that you do, they’ll participate more and become more active. - Write at different levels
Not everyone has the same knowledge. Some people are more advanced than others, so you have to accommodate the ones that are beginners. Try to make a “Newbie” section and start posting some easy to understand articles. When people that don’t know a certain subject visit your blog, they can simply go to that newbie section and read articles about the subject and understand the terminology and the meaning of your articles better. The articles that you write for the newbie section must be easy to understand, try to spoon feed your readers in this section. - Add some images!
I hate to see blogs with hardly any images on them other than the logo. According to Prentice Hall, 65 percent of the population consists of visual learners, if you have no images in your posts then they’ll simply leave your blog because they’ll find it boring or hard to understand. You need to learn to use some images. If you are having trouble finding images then I suggest you use Flickr, or you get a subscription to a royalty free image provider such as Fotolia, or Images.com, they have really high quality images but their prices are a bit high so you might just want to stick to Flickr. You should not use Google images because those images are mostly copyrighted so you can’t use them without permission of the author and if you do end up using one of those then you might just end up with a lawsuit, and nobody likes those.
I hope these tips helped you become a better blogger, always remember that a happy reader, is a happy wallet the more your readers like your blog, the more they’ll keep coming back and clicking on your ads, so make the most out of it and deliver great content.

I love your point of linking outside your niche. I have been looking at expanding the reach of my blog and have begun commenting on blogs that I wouldn’t normally visit.
All good ideas. I think giving more than just good content is a winning idea. You need to try and give people as many reasons as possible to keep coming back. Also I love adding images to spice up my posts.
