Have you ever wished that you could get more subscribers than John Chow? With this method it’s possible to even surpass him.

Since I’m always on Digital Point, I found a thread about a guy paying 20 cents to each person that signed up for his image hosting website.

The person had a lot of people signing up and he payed each and every one of them 20 cents, he made a pretty good amount of members in the time when the offer was still up. Later on I found out that the person was trying out was Google often does which is to pay people to sign up for their services.

If you can get people to sign up for an image hosting website for 20 cents a piece then you can get people to sign up for your newsletter for 20 cents a piece as well. So basically if you were to spend $20 dollars paying people to sign up for your newsletter you’d end up with 100 subscribers in a week.

And if you have 100 subscribers you can sell ads for about $10 dollars each. So all you’d need to sell in a week would be 2 ads and you’d start making a profit.

The reason why you should pay people to sign up for your newsletter is because the more subscribers you have, the more you can sell your ads for. All the money that you need to reach John Chow’s subscriber count would be to spend $5,200 dollars.

I know it’s unorthodox to get subscribers this way, but it pays. John chow makes about $15,000 a month from private ad sales that means that if you were to spend the $5,200 dollars in a month you’d make about $10,000 dollars profit.

When I got this template I remember having a fake feedburner image with over 20k subscribers, a person mailed me and offered to pay me $500 dollars to place a simply 468 x 60 ad on my blog, I quickly rejected the offer and told him that the chicklet was fake and that I didn’t have 20k subscribers.

This is not uncommon, GPT sites like Bankrollbucks use this method to attract people to join their websites. They usually offer about $2 dollars free when you join but in order for them to pay you that money you need to make at least $10 dollars

$6,000 to get that many subscribers. I don’t think I would pay people for subscribing but I would definitely give away $6,000 in prizes over the course of a year.

Yeah but you wouldn’t get 26,000 subscribers you’d probably get like 10 thousand as a maximum.

The problem with that is that you can’t check who subscribe to you.

If there is a way then I would be glad to pay for those subscriber.

Your idea is good. It will definitely give you some subscribers. But, in my view holding some good contests will give you more subscribers. Thanks.

    Interesting.

With this method, if you just invest $20 per week into your site, it means after one year you’d have 5,200 Subscribers. Will have to give this a try. Any idea on how many would opt out of the emails after signing up?

Well as long as you don’t spam their e-mails or send them very regular newsletters I highly doubt they will.

It’s backhanded, sneaky and dubious.. I like it!

As Webmaster said though, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a large number of quick opt-outs.

hmmmmm, I guess you could do this….I’m sure some would, though….I don’t much see the enticement of $0.20

but hey…whatever works, probably not something I would do but, it depends on what you are going for. If the main result is to get enough subscribers to secure decent ad placements….may be worth it for some.

I’m more of a quality over quantity guy, though, I love quantity as well, if you have both that’s when you really got a good thing….

and yes, I’m starting to ramble so I will end my comment here
