If you are a usual reader around here you have noticed that I began posting music videos, I didn’t just do this because I like the songs but because of the traffic these videos can give you.

I added a video yesterday, T.I.’s leaked “Swag like us”. The video was uploaded fine and in the morning today it had already 500 views! I rapidly came to my site and checked my visitor statistics and noticed that I had an extremely huge jump in traffic. At first I thought it was just stumbleupon, but then I saw “Google searches”.

I had over 300 UNIQUE views just from one Google keyword search in less than 24 hours. I also had about 25 different variations of the keywords all giving me a ton of traffic. I had visitors rushing in all day, in the end of the 24 hours I checked my stats again and noticed that I have never had that many visitors in a day, not even from stumbleupon or any other social bookmarking site.

I truly believe that this would not have worked if I did it with a new start up blog. The reason the method worked was because it was a completely brand new song, it had little competition and this blog a stablished website.

Google tends to index faster and tends to like stablished sites more than brand new blogger, or free wordpress sites.

What this taught me was that when you are one of the first to give something out to the public there will be a lot of people interested in reading about it.

From now on I’ll be posting a lot more songs like this :D .

    Hey bro…

I found your site after seeing you “shamelessly” plug it on Miss Info’s site, and even though I had already heard the song on ALLHIPHOP.COM I still checked you out as I figured there may be a few tips to pick up on as seeing how you were savvy enough to use that platform as a marketing medium and boy am i glad i did…..

thx for sharing this strategy, i have actually thought of that before (i have a beatmaking site) but because i direct traffic to a squeeze page and hadn’t really built a sticky place (blog) for visitors to come to i hadn’t…..

i opted in to your blog and will be in touch, thanks for sharing!

    Hey no problem man :D
When you follow the tips you need to make sure your comments actually seem like comments not spam otherwise the person will probably delete your comment.
When you build the blog add a lot of info before advertising it and add a good layout, people love good layouts and good content.

    Good luck :)

    Hey Germz

the post you did on missinfo.tv was fairly overt but in that medium most people aren’t really hip to dropping your url link into your posts so it’s okay… personally i have been doing it for some time in the hip hop, beatmaking niche and have had great results. with very little effort one of my sites comes up generally in the top 5 on google with little to no real SEO, but i have a strong url that is keyword rich…

i will continue to follow your blog though as you share some good info….
