Prevent Getting Click Bombed.

Prevent Getting Click Bombed.
Getting click bombed sucks. I can say this because I’ve been through it. I once signed up for Adsense, about 2 months ago, and the second day that I had implemented Adsense on my site, I had 84 clicks, and the clicks made me an amazing amount of 5 cents. The next day I only got 2 clicks which made me 45 cents, which in truth is not that bad.
What is a “Click Bomb”?
Click bombed, is when your ad gets clicked many times by a bot, or by the same person to damage your Ad earnings. Usually, the Ad publisher will notice an increased rate of clicks, and most of the times it will be too late because the Owner of the Ads (Adsense, YPN, Bidvertiser )will have already suspended your account until you can prove that you got Click bombed, most of the times you won’t be able to reclaim your account, and you’ll be blamed for fraud.
How to prevent getting click bombed?
As you can see, when you get click bombed it can be very dangerous for your Ad publisher account. Now there are ways to prevent getting click bombed, but they are not proven methods, they are just tips that I’ve gotten from random webmasters.
Here are some of the tips.
- Don’t make enemies. Usually, the people that click bomb you are people from your own niche. If you want to prevent this then just don’t piss anyone off.
- Check your raw logs. Check the ip addresses of everyone that goes to your site, view who is accessing your site more often and what pages they are viewing. By doing this you prevent getting bombed, and you learn what pages of your site your visitors are going to.
- Add a tracking code to your ads. Usually most Publishers allow you to do this, I’m sure Adsense and YPN allow you to do this.
- If you have an apache account with your host, then check your Awstats Account, you can see a lot of information on your users like their IPs, Their operating system, and their browser.
- Check your CTR percentage, (Click Through Rate). If it suddenly goes up by a large amount then you need to start worrying as you might have gotten click bombed. Report this to your Ad publisher immediately.
Conclusion
When you get Click bombed, there is not much you can do, other than report to your Ad publisher and hope for the best. Hopefully, they will trust you and allow you to keep your account.
I’m not sure how you can report fraud on each Ad publisher since there are so many, but if you are ever click bombed, just look for a contact form and mail them ASAP, give them as many reports as you can that will help you in your case.
Show them the IP addresses of the people on your site, and check who clicked on your ads the most, if possible block their IP address until your Ad publisher has been notified.
I’m sure if you follow those tips you will prevent getting click bombed, and you can end up preventing your account from being suspended for this reason, good luck selling Ads.
